I see a lot of threads on CSS.net about some wild power goals...

Some are modest while others seem outright absurd...

Whatever goal you try to obtain, good luck to you, but I am curious as to what you are realistically going for HP wise.

So vote in the poll and lets see just how HP hungry these Cobalt owners really are.


Again, lets keep this to REALISTIC objectives. Lot's of people say they want 500whp but in reality, what are you actually going to do with YOUR car and YOUR money?

my main goal is 400hp for my Cobalt. i plan on getting the k04 turbo upgrade from hahn when it is released!

i don't think a k04 will get you there unless you throw some laughing gas in the mix...... their 20g will get you to the 400 mark tho .... when i get back from kuwait i'm doing a 35 r build on 2 cars....... my ss/tc and a 06 or 07 wrx wagon

what is the turbo swap synapse did?? i know they were close too or over 400hp

 

gt2871r 371whp and 378wtq i believe, and that was ic, charge piping, turbo, dp, tune, and i think intake but i'm not 100% on the intake........ gt2871r = bigger than a k04 i believe


btw k04 plus your mods i would assume puts you around 350 with a mild/agressive tune...... very respectable.... and you'd look like a sleeper if they saw under your hood and didn't see a MASSIVE turbo def a 12 sec car tho

(btw i am looking for 360 with spray not a bigger turbo..... well maybe the k04 turbo upgrade wheel from BTF but not a gt30 or anything like that........ yet)

 

any where between 300 and 350 is where im going to stay for now it only seems reasonable

 

lol!! i know its bigger im sure. yeah i got all the same mods that they have. excluding intercooler, but ill be buying that when i do the turbo upgrade aswell as mounts and better tires... lol!

they did go with the gt2871r, and intake. my friend actually did this exact build to his SS/tc before they released it and with exhaust, and pushing 25psi. he was almost at 400 whp. i dont know how much boost synapse was pushing but this set up is amazing. i'm getting mine this summer!

does anyone know what the k04 turbo will put me around? i really dont wanna have to buy a different downpipe or charge pipeing to compensate for the bigger turbo. lol!

440whp has been done on stock everything. who is to say 500whp cannot be done with a heavily ported head, fully built valvetrain, and 272 cams?

 

Nobody cares about the LSJ... Especially your slow piece of a vehicle...






But I plan on 350-400whp in my car, the biggest mod I will do is the K04 compressor wheel upgrade & maybe... maybe some nitrous.....

 

i would like to make 275-280whp with just gm tune and charge piping. think i'll keep stock dp, exhaust, intake and intercooler

Prove me wrong then. Pauls car is running strong granted but i doubt it could handle another 60 ponies without something going wrong, weither it be the tranny or the motor exploding.
You act like 60WHP is nothing, once your that high with an LSJ making that much more is going to be hell. Also, im sure you plan on going turbo to make that power and I take it you plan on adding some juice as well. That's just asking for a blown motor.
Beefing everything but the pistons, crank, and rods, is pretty much retarded anyways. Why not just be safe and go all the way instead of trying to prove its worthiness.

I'd like something in the 250-300whp neighborhood.... nothing crazy since it's my main dd. Stage kit if it ever happens and some bolt-ons are likely in my future.
