Well I spent some time on Tirerack.com here's what I found.... They now have wheel packages for the base, LS, and LT models, no wheels for the SS model yet. I did find out which tire is comming on the SS/sc. Below is the link to the tire. This tire is summer only rated, but TireRack did have winter tires for the SS/sc. One other thing I saw.... the price for the tires (Pzero) had dropped $25 from about a month ago.

Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Rosso+Asimmetrico&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=145WR80ARXL&fromCompare1=yes)

I can tell you that the tires cost $300 with tax, mount and balance at Tires Plus (used to be Don Olson Tire Center).

With only 356 miles on my SS, I got a nail in one of my rear tires today. Was really windy (front moving through with 25 to 35 mph winds) so I didn't realize that it was a flat tire and not the wind that was making my car drive funny. No telling how long I was driving on the rim, but either way, the tire is toast. :red:

These tires are very nice.
I was concerned after listening to some of the Redline guys talk about traction problems in the rain. But I've now driven in the rain a few different times and no traction problems whatsoever!!!!

I'm planning on picking up some snow tires for winter since I'll be driving the car yearround.

Good luck. Up here I was quoted $435.\tire for an 18'" performance snow tire.

Can't say I found any wheels at Tirerack great looking.....or the size wasn't 16"

Stupid Chevy should have left the wheels 5 lug.....the 96 Z24 rims are pretty good looking.

My dealer told me no matter what happens to those tires they are covered until they are bald. Talk to your dealer about making a claim.

If you get the optional road hazard warranty with the GM Major Guard extended warranty they're covered. My dealer just forgot to mention anything about it to me when I was signing the papers, so I didn't get it. I noticed it later in the brochure they stuck in with my paper work and called them about it. They ended up giving me the warranty ($100 extra) for free, but said that they wouldn't cover that tire since it wasn't under the policy when it happened.

While 5 different tire stores said they would have to order directly from Pirelli and it would take 2 to 4 weeks, Tire Kingdom said 3 to 5 days. 5 days later (Friday) I call them and they tell me they had to order directly from Pirelli but they expect the tire to come in anyday now. Somehow if it takes 2 to 4 weeks for everyone else to get a tire from them, I don't think Tire Kingdom will get it any faster.

Nero's are all season. Nero is a line of tires from Perelli.

That's not entirely correct. The P-Zero Nero is a summer only tire. The P-Zero Nero M/S (for mulit-season) is the all season radial.

i hated the stock tires on the SS, i now have goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 and i love them and the look a lot better. Definetly not a snow tire though!I think i will be going with the D3's on my Camaro SS when it is time for tires on it.

Yes, the Pirelli P Zero's will suck in the winter. That's one thing my salesperson told me when I got my car was to make sure I get a set of winter tires.

My Canadian SS2.4 came with 17" Pirelli P6's. Can anyone tell me if I can fit 15" or 16" steelies for winter tires?
