Looks like a pontiac in the pictures.

 

Its a firebird body with a chev motor....its a Chev.....

 

That most definitely looks like a Sunfire front end on that car....

no does not matter all that matters is by the time u say what it is its already done a race

 

That same motor tranny set up was in a different car last year and it won Rob Atchison his 3rd Str8 IHRA Funny Car Championship.... It holds the Funny Car et record 5.76 @ 240MPH....

 

What Chevy motor does it have???? It's almost gotta be an old school one in a Sunfire drag car, cause Chevy hasn't made an exclusive sport compact engine for a long, long time.

 

Its far from a sport compact motor...Its made by a builder named Allen johnson its a chev "STYLE" block with Chev "STYLE heads but he builds them and a buddy at a local machine shop does the internals....Its not a sunfire at all!! Its a big block wouldnt even fit in a SC car.... Its the only Chev "STYLE" motor in a heavily dominated HEMI field

 

I was thinking it would have to be. Just didn't know if it was a BBC or SBC. Either that or I've seen some drag cars with beefed up v6's from the old Cavaliers.

 

psh, 8000 hp or the highway for me. i cant drive cars that are a measly 2500 hp.

why don't you just call it a GM? pontiac and chevy are both under gm, so it doesn't make much of a difference.

Apparently its gotten alittle off topic, from the intial question of what do you think?.... ah well.....!

 

Like someone said... all motors since 1982 are considered Chevy(or GM) so it really is a mute issue that, that firebird has a "Chevy" motor in it.
