question about tire/wheel size

dont know too much about rims/tires but im considering buying the Enkei EKM3 (18x8) along with Sumitomo HTR Z III tires 215/40ZR18..

just wanted to make sure that combination would fit ok...not sure if the 8in width would be a problem with 215's?

also, you guys think i should go with 40 or 45's? id be putting the sportlines on at the same time (im a 2.2) but i want as small a wheel gap as possible..If i do get the 18's, sportlines and 40 sidewall would the wheel gap look alright?

you have to compare the stock overall diameter with the new wheel/tire dia. 215 width is too small for a 8" wide wheel. You can put some 235 with no fitting issues, I believe you can even go up to 245, but keep it at 235 if you gonna use sportlines. the best profile for the 235 would be 40. But like I said, do a comparison of stock vs bigger tire, dunno what tire size is the 2.2.

235's wont rub with sportines?

I've been told sportlines will not rub with 235. I'm running 235/40/R18 and I want to install some sportlines too.

The tire choice is up to you. I'd rather buy some high performance tires for the wheels you are getting and then use your stock rims for winter, but that's just me.

I have Nitto Invos on my car handle pretty good on dry/wet pavement. They are really sticky. Chem em out : https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/wheels-tires-96/nitto-invos-ss-tc-wheels-235-40-r18-160779/
