No Oil Left In Engine - What Damage Done To Engine?

Last night hit what appeared to be an muffler laying on the highway. Did not have time to avoid it and took it right down the center under the the car. Engine oil light came on and shut down car as quickly as possible. Damage to front valience, heat exchanger, radiator, front transmission mount, 6" crack in oil pan (only 1 quart of oil ran out on shoulder of road), center driver's side unibody frame damaged for 6 to 10 inches and exhaust compressed almost completely closed.

Question #1
If all visable damage repaired, is engine and supercharger a ticking time bomb destined to fail in the future due to oil starvation?

Question #2
What will be the decission of insurance adjuster about future of car and the engine? Insurance is suppose to return car to preaccident condition. Exterior damage is easy to see, internal motor damage or bearing damage not as easy to determine.

Did you shut it off right away? If you ran with no oil it's def fucked.

the engine oil light comes on when the car senses 15psi or less of oil pressure. the SC will be fine, it has a self contained oiling system. everything should be fine because you shut the car down right away

smashed the oil filter all to hell and lost all the oil out of the motor and it still ran fine after i got it fixed.

Yeah I wouldn't worry. It takes a minute for all the oil to completely drain and the engine can run for a few seconds without oil pressure before it gets hot enough to cause damage.

If there's a 6" crack in the oil pan, it's taking no more than 10 seconds to completely drain it.

Running it without oil for any period of time, even as little as 1 second, will cause damage. The damage might be minimal, but it's still there. It's now a weak point for if something like that ever happens again.

as long as you shut it down right away and repaired everything, and replaced the lost oil you should be just fine

insurance ( correct me if i am rong) will have suplaments (adjustments) on the damage to the engine.. considering the motor lost all the oil i would turn it on and smash the pedal to the floor and let them pay for a new motor for my car( honestly i wouldent do this but w/e) tell them that you are having problems with the motor and anything thats rong will be fixed free of charge......... untill u get ur next statement LOL but good luck and sorry for all that.

PS; like stated b4 the supercharger is fine its got its own oiling system.
