Buying S/C Front Lip..

Hey guys,

So, what is the current best way to buy an s/c front lip? I've tried buying them used, and no one is selling one. I know CED sells them, but they're like 200 un-painted. I'm really not worried about the paint, because I'm gonna do a DIY job on that.. It's only black.. lol. But is there any place that sell them for less? What about if I go to the dealer? Will they charge me even more? Because if it's a similar price, I'll just get it locally. No / less wait..

Also, for the 12 clips and 4 other things necessary to install, do you have to get those from the dealer, or will any parts store have those? Either way, what'll they run you? For the 4 things in the middle, it looks like you can just zip-tie those.. lol. Any truth to that?

Any info would be great.. Thanks!

I have seen pics somewhere of someone sliding in pieces of foam into the slots for the clips but Im not sure how well it held up...AFAIK the proper clips have to be bought from the dealer...

Im sure a used one will pop up for sale eventually....I bought mine used off of another member...

Just do your best to find a member who is selling one. I'm picking up a Victory Red SS/SC front lip from a friend of mine for a measly $20. Then all I gotta do is have it primed, painted and installed.

I got a PM the other day about one, but then they backed out. But I just got one a few minutes ago about a black one. Sounds really promising..

How much are the tabs from the dealer..??

And how about the zip-tie method for the other 4 tabs? lol

Will it need all new tabs after removing it from the original car?

I asked him how the tabs were, but I don't believe so. It seems like once you remove the things holding it in, it simply slides in or out..

Luckily the black lip I'm looking at has all tabs included and in-tact, but he hasn't messaged back in awhile..

As long as you cut the slots big enough, it should be no problem.. What'd you guys use to cut them? My friend has a grinder wheel, but is there anything else? And would you still recommend sticking some double-back tape in between the lip and bumper as well?

I'm finally getting one..
