1500 for supercharger plus all little things... 200-350 for a good tuner and 300ish install

turbo to get anywehre near 300 hp you will need at least 3000k just for pats, you can go around 2k in parts only for about 250 hp from zzp bare essentials kit.

if you want to go the inexpensive, the SC is your best bet .

3K For a turbo? Since when?

Turbo = 500
Ebay Turbo Manifold = 200
Ebay FMIC and Piping kit - 200
Tune - 200
Custom Downpipe - 200
Blowoff valve - 100
Oil and coolant lines - 100

A LOT cheaper then you think.

Blowoff valve - 200+
maybe wastegate 200+

injectors 50+ (probably going to be 200 if you buy new i'd recommend going 60's which are 200 or so )
spark plugs 40 bux

A LOT cheaper then you think.
you're missing alot of price in there man.. plus install... and this is for the cheapest way out ..

manifold is going to normally run between 300-600 unless you stumble on a deal... some of those deals limit the turbos you can use... some limit it to the T25 flange.. and unless your comfortable running an adapter which personally i wouldn't be

T25 turbos run about 1k

tune from vince is going to be more then 200, tune from a shop is going to be more then 200, and a tune from an individual will also be more then 200

custom downpipes range from 200-600 bux

blowoff valve and wastegate as well as good turbo are the 3 things you CAN"T cheap out on ..

also a turbo install is more labor intensive and takes alot more planning.. which if someones asking this question they're PROBABLY not going to be doing the install themself so you have to take on install fees and such

you also forgot to add in.. new injectors and plugs as well as other misc stuff

put it this way

06blackg85ss' first setup cost him 1200.. and he used a 200 $ ebay turbo, ebay bov, hacked up ebay cavi turbo manifold and tuned himself.. no way you're going to get cheaper then that

There is NO need to spend 1K on a high end turbo when you can't run a shitload of boost. The turbo i'm running ran me 600 dollars and is brand new. I did forget injectors but 60 dollars for plugs? HAHHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHA. Try dollar a piece copper's. Work like a charm.

i made a type on the plugs..

and i'm running copper plugs for my setup

and you can run a good amount of boost.. you don't need to run a **** load of boost with a properly sized turbo

not to mention you admit your turbo cost more then 500 bux not to mention the one you linked costs 700 almost.. which would be a decent turbo to run

i'm just saying don't lead people to believe things that aren't realistically possible.. generally a turbo setup is going to run you about 2400+ just like generally a sc setup will run you about 2k or so

if you had any idea how much research i've done for myself on the boost front for my 2.4 or how many setups i've helped people plan before they've ditched them lol you'd probably have a different idea of why i feel the way i do

based on the current list with adjusted prices ( and still being on the cheap side) it's STILL going to be over 2k assuming you install it yourself and get awesome deals on alot of things lol

not to mention we're also forgetting wideband, boost gauge, maybe interceptor, gauge pod

maf section unless you already have an intake

he speaks the truth. getting a full turbo setup for $1500 is just as likely as a full SC setup for $700 (which has happened once...and only once)
