Rev-match

Has anyone seen or installed a rev matching system on a cobalt yet? I didn't see any previous posts. Alot of manual cars are starting to come with them. such as the 370z

No. Learn to drive and you don't need a rev matching system.

rev matching is simple.....shouldnt need the car to do it for you. would be a waste of money IMO

i agree with the others.

i see auto rev matching as being potentially bad, regardless of the fact they are using them in cars. just as stupid an idea as suicide doors(although they look good).

If you have ever driven a rev-matching car you might not have the same feeling. Also it saves on the clutch and reduces drivetrain heat. Thought it would be a cool mod if it didn't cost much.

May as well get an automatic. Just another aid that takes all the skill out of driving.

I feel like my car rev matches itself...either that or I'm actually good at it. Just give it a blip and it's like it hits that sweet spot almost every time.

Its a cobalt, not a Z. And why would they put it on a base model anyway? Its just a waste of money. If you want a manual, you should know how to drive it.

I have. Didn't like it. If you want a rev matching downshift, go buy yourself a full automatic.

well, people don't want to do that anymore, they just want to look cool when they "shift" by letting the computer do all the work.

Hahahaha thanks all for /slashing

To each there own. I was just wondering if anyone has done it because the 370z i was in had it and it was cool. Its pretty easy on cars that have the throttle set up we have in the new cars.

just double clutch , or just blip the throttle on downshifts to rev match, its not hard, you shoudnt need a computer to do it for you

You have to revmatch downshifts or there's going to be a jerk unless you wait for revs/speed to drop right down... probably even worse in the SC. So I dunno how you can be "too lazy" to rev match properly, especially if you have a passenger.

I'm still a rookie at it and it's tough to get the revs right on sometimes... I find it easier to overrev it just a little bit and catch it on the way down.

I can rev match but i plan on quite a few mods and I live in a big city so o thought this would be cool. I know all i have to do is blip the gas which will throw me around 2.5-3k which is good for 2nd around 30 mph 3rd around 45 and 4th around 60. I never asked if anyone thought it was a good idea i just asked if anyone had done it.
