how should i lower the ss
how should i lower the ss
I am lookin to lower the ss, i was looking at coilovers and springs and couldnt decide if all the extra money is worth the coilovers. What does everybody think? coilovers or springs. and if you choose springs which ones do you think are the best?
the new struts have the best damping on them of anything available with the added bonus of being a factory part, designed and tested to take hundreds and thousands of miles of Abuse.
In case you don't know, the new SS/TC raped the new Evo MR and STI around Laguna Seca. The TC is simply the best handling FWD car in the world right now.
i personally used a propane torch on my stock springs, and bam, awesome lowering.

What are your intensions for the car? If you are really into autox or road racing coilovers might suit you better but if you are doing it for looks and you don't want to tinker with your suspension then springs would be the way to go.
Depends on how much your willing to spend and what your looking for overall out of your suspension.
Aftermarket springs will only replace just that......your factory springs. They'll lower the car a little bit, but they aren't in any way adjustable.
But full coilovers will replace your springs AND your shocks/struts, and will often give you adjustable pillow ball mounts. Not to mention most coilovers are height/stiffness/rebound adjustable.
I just have springs (Eibach Sportlines) on my car, but after having them on the car for almost 3 years on the factory shocks/struts, I wish I had just spent the extra money on coilovers, b/c I need new shocks/struts now anyways thanks to the springs.

Coilovers are the proper way to lower it. If you have the money, go the right way. if you dont, go the cheap way with springs. just be prepared in the long run to be replacing shocks, or buying Koni's, in which case you will be spending the same amount of money as coilovers anyway.
