Get the springs and TC struts and be happy.

Don't get the crappy coilovers that are out there that everyone runs...

coilovers are stiffer, more adjustable, and you are able to achieve lower levels of lowering.
i myself have sporlines cause of the money issue

i would go coilovers, more money, but you can adjust it to the height you want. not only that, its a direct swap so you dont need to deal with spring compressors and what not...

im only saying this cause im the one who installs my own suspension on cars.

so the tc struts are strong enough to handle being lowered? So there would be no need for someone with a ss/tc to buy koni's?

struts just dampen the movement, the spring holds the weight. in other words, the factory struts are fine, the issues arise when, A, the struts are old when the spring is installed and they should have been replaced anyway, or B, the spring is so low that it exceeds the design of the strut.

i put progress springs on a long time ago, and never had an issue.

now, i prolly do need new struts and shocks, but that's because my car has 65k on, not because of the springs.

if you got crappy roads where you live, then the springs will be the better choice. yeah, coilovers handle better, but you pay for it everytime you ride over a harsh bump. I had coilovers and swapped back to springs and koni struts/shocks.

It really depends on how you have the coilovers tuned.

That and the spring rate of the springs on the coilovers as well...stiff doesn't equal better handling like is stated all over this thread.

Too stiff of a set up is just as good as too soft of a setup.

my coilovers were more to the soft side but not all the way. Still, going over bumps that the stock suspension didn't even recognize were more than just noticeable, and bad bumps can be unbearable at times. That's why I mention the roads, since down here in virginia, saying the roads are poorly maintained would be a compliment.

like i said, if you just want to lower, SS/TC struts and a good set of springs. Most people don't have the patience to dial in and maintain even the "cheapo" coilovers.

Go with H+R springs(made in germany----we all know the germans make good shi*) and the koni shocks. I had a high end coilover set before this but it was like riding in a tank it rode soo hard, not to my liking. Now it rides just right with adjustable front shocks for the track days. This is just my opinion but I done alot of research before I bought it that makes any difference.

it all depends.....do you want the adjustability or no? i went with h and r springs on my car because im waiting to here back if stance wants to prototype coilovers on my ss/tc. i got them cheap too..... realistically i would go with coilovers since i drive my car year round. lower it all the way for summer driving and up to stock for the winter snow. also having the dampening adjustability for the track is great as well. koni makes a good product but coilovers are where its at. adjustable in all ways unline the konis that you can only adjust dampening.
