official pro kit thread
Whoa...ok give your prokit a chance... I bought the SSC springs because the specs showed less drop than any other spring (for the ss/tc) and they advertised a ride that was nearly identical to stock... Well, when I put on the springs they ended up dropping the car more than spec (I am now at 1.5 gap front and 1.75 gap rear). The good thing is that the ride quality is still the same as stock (shouldn't be true but this is the case), but I did pick up some knocking between the rear sway bar and exhaust (because the car went so low). Now that everything is fixed and aligned the car seems to be running perfectly (no noticeable difference from stock) but I am glad I didn't get anything that would have resulted in a lower drop... I probably would have had to go back to the stock springs if that were the case...
I cut mine down a bit...they arent quite as low as sportlines the ride is almost the same as stock as far as bumps etc but it handles noticably better. SO the car looks better cause of the drop but it doesnt ride like a buckle of bolts on bumpy roads and out handles stock easily.
The LT hasn't set any records! lol. The SS/TC is the only Cobalt with a decent factory suspension. LT suspensions are terrible. I have driven my mom's G5 and it is HORRIBLE! lol
Well I can tell that there will be some people out there that will chose not to believe but.......lowering the car has actually improved the handling. The ride is almost the same as stock (the car actually tracks a little better with the road) but there is now no body roll at all. The car sits absolutely flat now in the curves (the car actually has a slight body roll during cornering with the stock suspension)... the handling and response also seem to have improved.... I was also sitting on the fence for a while about lowering the car. The area I am in is not exactly meant for a lowered vehicle...but now that I have lowered Coby I am happy with the results...
