My NRG does work, but requires some modding. As far as struts why wouldn't it be the same as a SS SC?

charge piping and intake should be in the way of a strut brace

so you had to take off the panel behind the driver/passenger seats? and then the harness bar bolts INPLACE of the stock seatbelt thing?

yes and no. I took off the panel to fit the bar, then cut holes in the panels for the bar to fit...and as with all universal harness bar, you need to bend the ends of the bar in slighty to fit the contour, I bent the tabs outward about 1/2"-3/4", not too much. The support bar that leads to the floor however does not reach, and require and extra bracket to rear the stock seat belt bolts. Out of respect to my sponsor NRG I do not post pictures of this because I do not want to make their product look bad in anyway, they do not claim for this to fit in a cobalt in anyway, I just made it work.

cobalt addication makes a strut bar but from everything ive read it sucks. the nga one looks nice but again it requires mods and a lot of people dont wanna take the time to actually do stuff to the car. they just want a simple bolt on. no strut bar yet due to the charge piping being totally in the way and different companys coming out with all different designs.....injen and cia go across the motor where as the others go more twords the side.

strut bars on tc's will not do a thing for performance because the towers are welded to the firewall for additional support.

Oh that's good to know! Thanks for sharing that cause I was curious about a strut bar too. I had one on my RSX-S and it did help. Just mostly with turn-in response and general stiffness of the structure.
I'm glad to hear GM took this approach. The bar I had on the RSX-S was a triangulated bar meaning it didn't just go from tower to tower. It attached to the firewall too. If an after market one were to fit I would think that might be the way.
