Some good and not so good new about the Ohlins Setup

Well, since I am now on a mission to setup my own car like the Time Attack one I inquired to Ohlins yesterday about the possibility of them making the setup available for purchase. This is the response I recieved from them:

Chris,

Jeff Reid forwarded your email to us. We are the main technical service and sales center for the road racing GT "style" and Formula cars for Ohlins.

We currently sell a damper set up for the Cobalt that is available now that is used by all of the Cobalts running in Grand AM. We build each set per order so there is a lead time of at least 2-3 weeks this time of year. (Call for availability and build time.) The price is $6450/set. This does not come with springs as you can spec whatever rate you'd like and we can provide Hyperco springs for between $75 and $95/each. Ground Control makes an adjustable camber plate for the cobalt and we need to have that here to do final assembly on the fronts. You will need to aquire the camber plates and have them sent here.

Thank you for your inquiry and please contact me if you have any questions or if there is anything else I can do for you.

Well I plan on Auto-X'ing my car and I want nothing but the best, since when I put on my Stage 2 kit I will already be in the street mod class, so any other upgrades done to the car wouldnt put me any higher. I wasn't expecting it to be like over $7000 though, I was thinking like 4k at the most. With Ohlins, you pay for the best and you get it too. But since that price is like 1/3 the cost of my car I will have to wait or talk to them to see if they can give me some kind of deal, hopefully lol.

for 4 or 6k I'd invest in a driver school and plenty of seat time and a great set of wheels and tires.
