When im stoped if I turn the wheel left and it makes a clicking noise ... any idea what it might be?

 

You're sure it's not just the power steering kicking in since there's a large amount of play in the wheel when you're stopped that's essentially a deadzone? Just a thought.

 

Nah this is the first time it has ever done it.

 

fyi our cars don't have power steering. we use an electric steering system. and the clicking is most likely your intermediate shaft

 

Yeah, apparently the intermediate steering shaft on these cars is a ******* terrible design.

 

Something that has to be fixed right away or get it fixed when I can?

 

It's probably moderately high on the priority list (correct me if i'm wrong)

I've had mine replaced two times in a year. And I swear it started doing it about an hour after it was replaced the second time. *This was like 6 months ago*

So i've just said **** it for now and i'll bring it back in when I have to for something else.

 

you can take your time but i would get it done sooner then later. and ya they are a horrible design for alot of gm vehicles not just the cobalts

Brang it in a few weeks ago, getting a new steering column put in tomorrow.

 

there is supposed to be an upgraded steering column, i apparently have it and i tell ya its not nearly as bad as the stock one.

 

Yeah hopefully i get that then ... so I had an apointment at 8 and they call me at 4 and tell me they didnt get a chance to get in.. shitty service

 

it happens. it happens at the shop i work at, and i'm busy all day and all the other techs work as much as they can, its the advisors that don't realize that they've overbooked.

 

I know I already had it in last time though and they told me the same thing and now the same thing again and I had the apointment for about a month .. aww well ill get it done eventually ... little off topic but i seen in another thread you giving some advice on installing an intercepter ... whats the best way to do this? I should have mine this week and im not sure exactly how to install.

Nope this is going to be my first mod on my car and this is my first car lol i seen some pics though doesn't look too hard and i'll get someone to give me a hand that knows more then I do but I was jw whats the best way to go ... just use the power wire from the stock boost gauge?

 

no some people say its ok but those electrical systems are meant for whats on them and really not much more so i don't like doing that, rather i would go and get a mini make-a-fuse and use that to tap into a fuse slot that isn't in use. and use that to run your power wire. also since the interceptor comes with the jumper installed and is not needed for proper operation with the cobalts remove the jumper on the back of the gauge and thats really it. everything else is pretty straight forward.

 

so just need the fuse and thats it? Certain slot?

 

slot 22 should be empty with nothing on it. there is a diagram on the panel you remove to get to the bcm fuse panel

 

Where at inside the car is the fuse panel?

 

passenger foot well inside trim panel. there will be a little lightning bolt on it.

 

But im not using my boost gauge anymore so would that matter? Wouldn't the power cable for that be sufficient?

 

you could but like i said i don't recommend it.
