That really sucks. Once it is fixed see about putting in the lower grill. Don't know if that would have helped but it's worth a shot for next time.

harsh pics man. over the winter i actully bent my front radiator in as well from a snowbank on the way to work. damn plows never plowed the road i was on but they happend to plow every road that intersected w/ my road causing me to do some plwoing cuz i wasnt bout to get stuck in the snow.

and also did the lower valence crack? or what exactly is wront w/ that peice cuz i cant tell from the pics. but i can see the radiator damage and what not.

That sucks! I know it won't help too much, but that is why I made a grill for mine.

If I remember right from another post that's about $2,500 worth of repairs.

Yeah, with the way the cone went in there, it would have. All you'd be replacing is the front bumper and the grill instead of all the stuff inside if you get the grill installed properly. I actually tied mine down to the bumper for that very reason, so that if anything tries to get in there, it's going to take the bumper and the grill, but leave the rad alone.

You SS/SC guys should get together and complain to GM about the lack of a lower grille on your cars.

That's a cheap item that they obviously overlooked in the safety department. This is the fourth thread or so I've seen where someone has had their radiator and aftercooler taken out by road debris.

If enough people complain about this blatant lack of an easy to install (and already produced) safety item you might get something done. (Hey, it worked for the Ford Pinto)
