Depends on what he was doing there, if he was racing just like you he probably wont care. Did he recognize you? Its always recommended to take off your plates and hide your vin when you're at the track.
Gm doesn't send mechanics to spy on people at the track, they have other people to do that.

I dont think taking your car to the strip will void your warranty....only if your modded or something. This car was designed with racing in mind...launch control, NLS....why would they have done this just for you to drive point A to point B around town? Im sure your fine.

I'd say the warrenty is still good, it's the insurance company who won't like you being at the track. Wreck there, and they're probably not going to cover it, unless you get insurance for compitition.

Reguardless. If something happened to your car, he would have to prove that abuse is what caused the part to malfunction/go bad. Your warranty will not be voided simply by you being at the track. GMPP is who will viod it, not a mechanic.
Exactly, the only thing that will be voided is your insurance policy
Owner brings in a car with a busted tranny, mechanic says he saw the owner racing at the local track, dealer informs gm about this, beancounter at gm says this is abuse as outlined in the warranty booklet, owner is screwed.
You obviously have no knowledge of how a company views abuse of their product when it comes in for service when something broke. The beancounters who make these warranty decisions don't care that gm did 600 launches at the track to test the clutch of the car or if it has no lift to shift, if you're racing the car at the track its considered abuse to them.

If he was racing his own car you're probably safe, i would of probably shoot the **** with him since he recognized just to get on his good side.
Try viewing this from gm's point of view, not a consumers point of view.

There is no such thing as "voiding a warranty." When you change parts, any other parts they may effect lose warranty coverage. So for the charge pipe and blow off valve, you would lose coverage on pretty much all the parts in the engine and turbo. You wouldn't, for example, lose coverage on your parking brake.
as long as theres no damage to the thing you need replaced under warranty they can't say jack ****. the b/f works for a motorcycle dealership this guy came in bc he needed his clutch replaced along with some other very costly parts (i dont remember them all) and they found a video of him on you tube just burning tires and stunting the bike sent it to the corp. and they said "fix the bike" they had the lic. plate (on the vid) and everything. they said "we dont need to lose a costumer" that was the excuse when the boss said "why we have proof"
