Sorry for the title but needed your attention.

Has anyone ever heard a scraping sound from underneath the car when leaving in first and sometimes second.

The sound is similiar to when something metal touches something metal thats spinning and then some vibration noise. This is very fague but I don't know how else to describing it. Sometimes you hear this on older cars, sounds like sheet metal being rattled.

Anyone?

Yes. Even automatics have this.

I went to the dealer because of this noise and also because I had lost the centre retaining (plastic) plug inside the left rear wheel well. (Centre back).

The right rear wheel well one seemed loose to me as well.

If you press on the rear body panel just behind the wheel you will see how much deflection the body component has and probably you will be able to recreate the noise.

The dealer replaced the plastic plugs (really shitty design) and it helped reduce the noise.
