Sunroof - lack of noise buffer?

I wasn't sure if this was a SS/TC-only thing, but does anyone know why GM didn't include a wind buffer for the sunroof on the Cobalt SS/TC?

I rented a G6 a few years ago and it had this buffer thing that automatically pops up:

Because GM's cheap! The Cobalt is a cheaper price point car than the G6 so they can cheap out the stuff like that.

"Because they're dumb' isn't a logical answer - since they fit them to many cars with sun roofs. GM only do sh*t like that because they save $$$

I thought maybe it had to do with aerodynamics. I could be totally wrong. Probably just is a money thing. My RSX-S didn't have it either. Didn't need it though. It was pretty quiet.

If you looking for aero dynamics your not going to have your sun roof open in a high speed run. The G6 and SS/TC run close in price, but the lack of the buffer i think is just being cheap although they are nice to have.

had one on my old g6, loved it...
I was able to enjoy the open roof without all the audio and without a huge temperature change, I wonder if there's a way we could do this to our sunroofs?

I didn't mean aerodynamic efficiency as in getting the most performance. I meant it as maybe there's not as much turbulence on the SS/TC along the roofline as in other cars. I think it's pretty quiet honestly. The RSX certainly was and it didn't have one.
