need some words if wisdom

Ok so if u dont know the history on my car, i've been having numerous problems with cyl # 3 misfires. I brought it to the dealer three times for it

first time: they said it was a "random thing and that they checked everything out and i drove away

second time: they say same **** and replace a purge valve b/c there was another code

third time: they said they could not warranty the repair b/c thier computer documented me going 100 mph at time of misfire

well it happened again last night from 2nd to 3rd gear so i know it was at a lawful speed

i call them this morning and my service rep tells me they cant do anything for me seeing how i was going 100mph last time it happened and they have that documented and what not WTF??? am i being dicked around???

i dont think they can do that, just tell them you were on a track or something, if the car wasnt meant to go over 100mph, they would have limited it to 100, the fact is if the car can get to 160, it should be fuly capable of doing so without problems

yea they are just dicking you around as they cant fix it or dont want to get in touch with someone higher up and let the dealership even show you where in the warranty clause it says you cant go over 100 that is retarded.

the easiest would be to take it to another dealer. But if you want you can fight with the current dealer some more, and they will eventually fix it for you.

Move the injector from #3 to cylinder #2 and see if the problem moves to 2.
Also move the coil from 3 to 2 and the spark plug from 3 to 2 .
But only do 1 thing at a time to eliminate the possible cause.

The problem is only in the one cyl ,so it would most likely be with something associated to it.

Check the wires that go to the coils for damage,\ive seen a tsb for the air con hose chaffing them.

Hope this helps.
and I dont think the dealer can do that to you and he Marked your car the service rep at the new dealer will see it on the computer once he puts in your vin.

If they somehow knew you had it reved to 8500 somehow, they might have a case for denying warranty but not for the vehicle speed......I'd call them out on that one.

Don't let them fob you off because they don't want to deal with it. You bought a new car with a full warranty, you are entitled to make use of it.

With dealers like that, is it any wonder GM is in the toilet?

Pm me your vin and i will check GMvis for any "100mph" (lol BS) notes on the warranty or comments in the repair order. They a making excuses cause they can't figure it out. Did they even bother to call techline about the issue?

Well my question is. Didn't it happen before at a time when you weren't going 100 MPH? I think you said it happened twice, so I would tell them that this is a recurring problem and tell them to fix it. Just because it happened once at 100 MPH doesn't mean that they are exempt for not fixing it the first two times before you went 100 MPH. I would try that argument if I were you.

I'm assuming they're taking the 100mph mark and assuming you were racing on-street or at a strip. In this case I think it's up to the service department's discretion if they will work on it or not but I call BS. Honestly, GM puts up a video of the car beating ass around the Ring, but they expect customers of the SS/TC to baby their vehicles around and not run them like they were meant to?

You're getting fucked dry by your service department, that's complete bullshit, but it is up to their discretion if you're looking for a "can they do this or not". You could try GM customer service but not sure what they're going to say if you meantion "100mph" or they call the dealership...that might end up on your record permanently...blach.

Sherm...

Is it a tune related issue or a hardware issue? Or have you narrowed that down yet?
