Floaty light rear?

Tried doing a search but not being a car wiz made me come up empty handed. Possibly the choice of words again seeing as I lack alot of knowledge in this department.

Anyways, I was sent to work at a different store so my commute home had me take the highway home. Now I have only been on the highway with this tc maybe 5 times in the past year including today . I had to take an off ramp that led to an overpass. I was probably only doing 45 maybe 50 (speed limit is 40mph for this off ramp) and that car felt light in the rear? Almost like a floating feel it . after the turn I di d a couple "safe" swerves at 45 and still felt the same. I have never taken an off ramp like this in the Ss so I have no clue if its typical ( as I heard from others that it is typical of any Chevy) .

My car is completley stock and the tires I have on right now are Goodrich sport comps. Car only has maybe 48000 (always drive with the coolant display seeing as j have an 09 tc lol) any help or lean me to the right direction to diagnose this problem.

PS I did the "bounce" test. Started bouncing the car in the rear then let go. It bounced one extra time then stopped . so I would assume shocks are fine?

My car is a base model but it's light like that too. I had to make an emergency turn once because a stupid retard and the rear really felt weird. I'm told adding a rear sway bar helps a TON. Not sure if you already have one. I want one.

Its normal, mine does the same thing you just get used to it. I want to say its related to the understeer these cars have in stock form, but I'll let a suspension guru confirm/correct

My tire pressure was 34-35psi all around while driving. Cold they were at 33psi when it was in the 80s the past few days. This morning 31psi because it was only 61 so I know I have to add air since its gonna be this temp from now on.

Boom
During hard cornering i can feel the rear end sway to the side a noticeable amount of time after the front.
As said before pop a sway bar on there and it will get much better but realize the more stiff the bar the more likely your car will be to oversteer

OP needs a Hardcore Bar. More neutral handling that way.

Lol maybe down the road. I don't track it or hard corner it ever. I actually baby it too much to tell ya the truth.

I just wanted to make sure it was normal before I took it somewhere and they start charging me up the ass saying I need this and need that. Not many reputable garages in my area really.
Thanks for the responses.

At that lower mileage, it doesn't sound like anything has particularily worn out... I can tell you that when I'm on winters (16's that are taller than stock), I do get the "delayed response" feeling from the rear end, that completely goes away when I put my summers on (17's).

I would try a higher performance tire before doing suspension stuff, but definitely a hardcore sway bar as the first mod.
