gutt stock cat???

is it possible to gutt the cat on the stock dp? if so has any one done this yet and how hard would it be to do? me and my dad did this to a clogged cat on a 98 camry and it sounded pretty good

you can do it no problem... but it will cause bad turbulance in the exhaust flow

oh realy what do u mean it will cause bad turbulance in the exhaust flow? and do u think it would be worth it?

yes... and no dont do it.. if you want to go to an exhaust shop and have them weld in a piece of tube if you dont want to buy a dp

yeah i guess so huh i dident think about that about how much do u think they would charge and do u know any one who has done this?........ i wanted to do it so it would look stock if a cop checks but it flows and sounds better

if your concerned about that... gut the stock cat, weld in a pipe in side of the cat so its a straight threw design this will require you to cut the pipe and reweld it once your finsihed

this weekend im taking stock dp cutting out cat and rewelding a new peice of pipe in place where cat was hope sounds good

Take off stock DP. Bang with hammer. Dump out catalytic substrate.

Not sure if it flows much better, as I understand the stock cats are pretty good for being stock. But, its worth a shot. It will definitely sound different, not sure if it would be better or not though.

sorry couldnt do it this weekend i got a extra stock dp so now i can try it ummm it might get done this weekend if i can make it out of town to go camping where my dad friend lives so he can weld it for me i can make any promises but u wont beable to tell if it sounds good or bad im running megan muffler

i hacked it up and got it welded today ill try to talk my dad into helping me install it tomorrow but we gotta pick up his new truck and my moms new nitro rt so i doubt will be tomorrow but ill keep you updated

i dont think so if it was it was cheap as hell pick that piece up for 10 bucks from ct was bigger had to cut lil bit but worked great me and my buddy might be installing it tomorrow so hopefully it goes well :P if sounds good ill make a video i made a before and than u should be able to tell diffrence ill let you know how it sounds if i dont like it ill throw my other stock dp back on
