Insurance?????

Im 17 (1991/21/11) and I got a quote on an 08 lt for 5200/year wtf? anyone else paying this? I was planning on buying my friends 07 ss for 11,400. but the insurance can only go up.. Hopefully it was just who I called, but it was a broker comp so they usualy are close. I also applied for the discounts and its still 5200, my discounts were 2 cars already, house, boat.

Right now for a v6 05 Grand am as secondary im only paying 80$/month and the balt (lt)

for younger people the balt is one of the most expensive cars to insure.

That sucks. Go get a used WS6. Insurance on it is less than $90/month.

you pay almost triple what i pay a year, and i have 3 tickets, I pay a tad over $1100

last time i called allstate the broker asked me my age and how long i have been driving and told me to shop elsewhere, saying his early 20's sons didn't even have insurance through allstate with a clean record.

side note: when I got my cobalt I was quoted the same insurance for a SS/2.4 as the SS/SC from mulitple companies just because they both say SS.

Here's a tip:

Get on your insurance with your parents and have them say that they are driving it. That way they quote the insurance on your parents and not you. Im will state farm and they are close friends so we did this and my insurance isn't but like 50 bucks a month.

i pay 1100 a yea for my 07 ls
i will give you some advise from what my cousin tells me, and hes my insurance broker.
when your shopping for insurance tell them the car is for work/school only and that your work is about 5km from your house and school is about 2 km from your house, this wil help with the price.
tell them you want a $1000 deductapel (or however its spelt) instead of $500
but no matter what your insurance is gonna be high. check out royal and sun alliance

i have an 07 LT and my insurance is 4800 per year because i had one partial fault fender bender last september, pretty lame when my insurance bill is higher than my car payment. oh yeah also i am 18 years old and i was 17 when i had the accident.

RBC by far the cheapest I found. On my 09 Cobalt SS I pay around 1100$ for full coverage. With the Personal insurance company it would be over 2500$. I am 22, no tickets, no accidents (that were my fault) and had own insurance since I was 16.
