Sheered the piece of $#!~ transmission mount off...

So I was under my car today just poking around, painting my calipers, cleaning my air filter, etc. when I noticed a piece of metal looked like it had been broken off. So I grabbed a light and took a closer look and sure enough it was busted the whole way across. This would help to explain the sudden increase in traction and loss of hook up power. I have also been noticing an occassional clunk when turning or going over slow bumps. This would probably clear that up. The mount I'm talking about is the one near the fill plug in the transmission, on the top of the transmission where it bolts to the side of the car on the frame. You can see it if you take the wheel off the driver's side. I wouldn't be surprised if more of you haven't done this. We saw some stress cracks in it when we did my clutch, but I didn't think it would go so soon. You really can't tell it's busted unless you actually see it. So I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem and if so, any aftermarket companies out there?

That sucks. You have any pics? I'm not too familiar with the under side of the car.

Told you kids, I'm going to break everything one at a time so you see where the weak points are. This one though...I did GOOD.

I'm guessing this is the rear tranny mount? It does look weak but ZZP just came out with a replacement, i would get that, it looks good. It looks to be a single piece of metal machined to shape and not something that is welded together. Good luck.

Does this mean you need just a new tranny mount or were the tabs/mounts broken?

Nope. This is the piece that the ZZP part mounts to. It apparently is weaker than the stock mount even.

HAHAHA same here bro. Front mount riped off the tranny case other mount completly riped away from sub frame. Tech at dealer looked at me like i was some kinda animal or somthing. Now there gonna have to spot weld it back on. I doubt the car will ever be the same again. If they don't weld it good im just gonna rip it apart again.

yeah thats what the clowns at the dealership told me but a dumped clutch on this car = "the sit and spin" what good does that do? I only idle launch which means that the mount is getting fucked up from hard shifts through the gears. Only thing that saved me was that my stock clucth looks brand new so when they tried that abuse bullshit they had no ground to stand on.

No man, don't get it welded. A brand new one is like $25. Well worth it in my opinion.

No way man. They are being lazy and don't want to spend money for warranty work. Tell them to REPLACE everything or you want them to buy the car back. Even if that mount busted off the frame itself it's still a one piece unit.
