Shortage 2006 SS Gunmetal Wheels?

So my silver 2006 Cobalt SS was assaulted by flying road debri due to the unprofessionalism of Michigan construction crews. That issue aside I needed a brand new back right wheel.

I took my car to the dealer over 3 weeks ago to get the damages repaired. They had to fix my door and rear quarter panel (which by the way is a total bitch because our rear quarterpanel is like 1/2 the car...).

Anyhoo it's been over 3 week and they still don't have the 'wheel' shipped to them. I went in and bitched and they gave me a free rental car until it comes in (a stock 2006 4 door manual everything gold lame ass looking cobalt with a much slower engine...).

Anyhoo...what the hell is the deal? Is this dealer just stupid or is this whole GM bankruptsy wrecking havoc on their parts supply?

At what point do I get a full set of 2008/2009 Cobalt SS TC wheels for free?!?!?! my car = held hostage

I met another turbo cobalt SS owner over the weekend, and he said his car was still at the dealership waiting for rear calipers to come from Michigan. He has been waiting for a week now. Luckily, they gave him a loner as well.

so what the h3ll is going on?

Fixing your wheel is the last concern the dealer has right now...Trust me I know they need to take care of it, but with everything going on, you need to be very patiente with them. Yeah they could be ******** but remember who has your car right now. I doubt they will give you a set of ss/tc wheels for free.

yeah that's the thing, i'm not trying to be a dick. They told me it would take 2-3 weeks and that was after the parts came in. So they called me, told me the parts were in, i took my car in and just borrowed rides/cars from family for 3 1/2 weeks...

then i finally call them and am like, hey wtF? and they tell me everything is done but the wheel isn't in.

So they ordered a new quarterpanel, painted it, clear coated it, installed it (requires removing the back glass). put a new door shell on my passenger side, painted that, clear coated, put it back on. all this and the damn wheel still isn't it?

That's the thing, i was just wondering if there is some super shortage on our wheels and how many days they'll hold my car till they realize me driving around their loaner for another month is more expensive than just giving me 4 new rims of my choice

oh btw i forgot to mention in the quote that a new 2006 gun metal gray rim is like $850 dollars... WTF?!?!

I mean they cool, but not THAT cool. I wish i could take that money and put them towards some aftermarkets... but they wont let me

OEM parts are always super expensive. And if the wheel is on back order, there is no amount of bitching that will get it to you faster.

BTW, they will not give you four free wheels, especially if you've already started bitching at the.

They should have plenty of the polished, or the 07 gunmetals, i.e. Malibu wheels.

also remember with GM being in bankruptcy, a lot of companies dont want to sell GM the parts because they know they dont have the money. therefore creating a shortage in parts
