Steam Cleaning

Has any used this method to clean carpets, seats etc. I'm referring to those steam cleaners that you can buy for about $100, not the rentals. I would like to get some opinions before investing.

Ex:

.

Yes, 1st apply a little water to the fabric via the steamer, then apply cleaning agent to seat via a sprayer, then steam it out with just water, then Vacuum it good to get out the extra water so it wont brown out & dries quicker!
edit: just click that link, you need a extractor steamer ie: something that lays down water & extracts it!

Yeah I've done the Spot Bot on mine before and it works well, I just dilute the cleaner and do what BillBT was saying, spray it on with a bottle so that the only thing coming from the cleaner is water. I also scrubbed out the brush thoroughly so I didn't transfer any junk from cleaning my carpets in the house into the car. I have pics of the car after I did it, but they're on my other computer that's not operational at the moment.
