Well, I guess I had it coming

Tonight, I had to do the normal fill up before I go to work in the morning and after getting gas I noticed a white mark on the bumper. I started to rub it off then I noticed the entire side was worn to the plastic.

So really I have no clue on what to do. Apparently someone was trying to pull in a parking spot next to be and transfered paint but hell I dunno. It takes up to 500 dollars before insurance will cover it so I guess im much less screwed until I can come up with the money. And with GM being gay and not having the paint for the car i may never be able to get it painted.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

yep, that's something that comes out of pocket. Don't worry the bumper ain't as much as you think. it's the painting the costs the most these days. My bumper and paint was $300 when I had my SS

I would guess you could get that done very well for under $200. And someone somewhere will make paint that will match.

dude, I hate to say it but if it's that close to you deductible, just go ahead and pay it out of your pocket and save the claim.

I know the CarQuest in West Memphis can match the paint from the color code. Maybe one there in JB can too.

Yea I have a 500 deductible but I don't have the cash at hand to do it so Im just going to let it be until i can come up with that. I figured it wouldn't cost this much just for a repaint.

you can find better deals if all you need is the bumper painted.. $500 is steep for just the bumper... it may take 2 hours and 50 bucks in paint/clear

The main charge is actually having to take the bumper off which im not sure why you would I figured you could just tape off the bumper and cover the rest of the car.

You can't do that with metallics.

It will look like trash.

Take off the cover your self and bring it to them...pay less than the deductible, your insurance won't go up.

Well I took it up to the dealership and they told me it would cost around the same but if I wanted them to they would clean up the area so it wouldn't look as bad I told them go ahead and the end result was amazing not as bad as before so Im just going to leave it alone and the way its looking I can easily use some touch-up paint to fix it temporary.

And for fun I shot another coat of clear on the inner tails and waxed them. What you think?
Note* Don't mind the baggy clothes...Today is my day off so Im going to fee comfortable. :P
