If you want to keep warranty get it. If you don't care about warranty go get a tune and have more hp for less money!

Since the stage 1 kit will be rated at 275hp and 290ish with intake, if I didnt care about warranty I would just get a tune by someone who knows their **** with hp tuners and you can gain that plus more.

Well if the stage kit is around the same price as the Solstice or sky which is 500-600 bucks, you can get someone to professorially tune your for cheaper. Normally the stage kits are warranty friendly. GM knows people want performance and warranty, so 600 bucks for a flash and some sensors seems a bit much. But they can do what ever they want.

And to those that think you can go get this stg kit and then tune over it for more power! NOT possible.....

GM engineers spent tons of time on this kit so it can't be aftermarket tuned over like a stock SS\TC....

You either get the stg kit and live with it or you HPT your car and have tons more power and fun... Take your pick, it's an open salad bar..... Especially since the cobalt SS is no more as of last weeks announcement by GM... As soon as all the remaining 2009's are sold that's it....

Where did you find that info about how you can not tune over the stage kit? I would like to read it. Just dont make sense GM would do that! If that is the case just get another PCM and tune it!

You sir, are a moron. the Solstice and HHR guys have been doing this since day one. What the stage kit does, that really helps when you tune with HPT, is unlocks the 22.5 psi limit. Using the new sensors in the stage kit, one can command more than 22.5 psi of boost. You also lose the learn down feature, which doesn't pertain as much to tuning over the stage tune.

Do some research before you go spreading false information please. Here is a thread to reference my point.
