Check out some Hancooks. I think it was motor trend that did a performance tire comparison last year and the Eagle F1 took first, no surprise, but the Hancooks were third I think and about 40% cheaper.

I will try to locate that mag tonight and let you know which exact tires they were. After reading the article and looking at the numbers I will probrably go with these when I get new ones.

Depending where you are there is a place im Milton Ontario (401 and highway25) called Cheap Thrills their prices are pretty cheap and have quite a bit of a selection on rims and tires.

I am a Master Tire Specialist (Big Deal) and everyone in our shop swears by BFGoodrich and Michelin products. I personally bought a set of 225/40ZR18 88W rated BFGoodrich G-Force Sports and they are outstanding tires and you can't beat the price. I got a deal at Sam's Club and got around the install price. I want to say they were right around $125 a piece. Anyways, I drive like an idiot everyday and they hold the road very well. The treadwear is awesome. The wet traction is great although it could be better if you spent another $50 a tire for something else. The ratings are AA A with a treadwear rating of 340.

BTW those Yokahama tires are H rated. Try to get a W or Y rated tire if you can especially with the suspension on the SS. Also, those BFGs I mentioned are summer only tires if that helps.

Treadwear ratings are only reliable for comparing tires within the same brand, they are not interchangable. For instance, if Toyo rates a tire for 400 and Michelin rates 300 they could be the same or the Michelin could be better.

I sell TONS of HANKOOK tires, they really are good quality tires. We did over $1,500,000 just from them last year.
