Hey guys,

So, I went ahead and bought an ac panel off eBay. It is a black LS style one. I got it because I'm doing up my trim in black. Regardless, I got it in today. Excited to hook it up, I did so as soon as I got it in. I didn't actually use that assembly, just the front face that was black. Everything worked fine. Until night. I then realized that one of my bulbs in the ac panel was burned out all of a sudden. It was fine yesterday. So I swapped it out with the one I got. Same thing. I then put the other one back and somehow I now have two out. The center bulbs are fine, but both end ones are burned out. The 1-2-3-4 is good as well as the center parts of the temp and the airflow are lit well, but the outside edges are dim from the lack of light suddenly. Not a big fan. I noticed that the little bulbs do seem quite flimsy. I likely just bumped one and it got screwed up. Is there any way to fix that? I assume it's one of those things where you just need to replace the thing. Screw that. I'll work something out or just leave it. I was thinking about doing something where I remove that passenger airbag warning thing and make a small blue LED light bar that shines down on it. I think that'd be neat. But I'd really rather it just work normally. lol. Any suggestions or am I kinda screwed? Doing the dash trim painting in the morning, so just curious if there's anything I can try..

Thanks!

I personally wouldn't put any lights outside in the middle. But that's just me. I don't remember how they looked when I swapped faces but I think you can just solder an led in place

That would give you a better, non yellow light anyway.

True true. Or swap out the LEDs and sharpie mod the LEDs. Any color you want

When I was younger I did that to my mom's headlight bulbs on her car.

I painted them with a blue sharpie. They then got hot and busted.

:thumbsdow

You do know headlights are extremely hot to the touch and fry the ink off. LEDs aren't hot when they're on Hence why sharpie mod on LEDs work.

It basically is set up where there's a bulb and there's the two metal wires coming off them to get power. Just pull those off and solder a similar light in place?

Yup. I would just touch the ends of the led with the wires from the ac to make sure what's negative. Then solder.

haha Indeed. That's why I went back to the stock header/dp. I'm just keeping the car as-is for awhile. Tired of always fixing something. lol. And it's generally stupid stuff too!

I did them on my mom's halogen bulbs.

I was trying to be JDM with her Toyota.
