most of you will not be able to fully appreciate this, but for those of you who do, do not take it for granted.

I am big into detailing, as most of you know. Well, doing full corrections typically took around 3 days. Why? Because on the bad jobs you have to make several passes with an aggressive compound and then take the defects caused by that compounding. Talking 2-3 hours on a single big panel if everything went as planned. Well I have been reading alot on the Meguiars 105 compound for a while. Working on LS1fbody's car and the hood was INSANELY hard (has been repainted) nothing would take this shit out. Found some 105 and bought it to try. Apply VERY THICK with an orange light cut pad, and then just buff it off with a polish pad. Everything came out and the paint had no marring. Ready for wax. We are talking taking a 2-3 hour panel down to a 15-20 minute job. Seriously. I could not believe it. Usually always get marring that has to come out via light compound with a heavy cut, and this stuff is just apply, buff, soft bad, buff, done. Perfect paint.

Before:

that doesnt really do justice, this panel is FUCKED up and VERY deep.

after:

anyways, i am going to try and finish this panel while keeping my erection off the hood.

Go to your local cobalt site and ask for a Hatrickstu, that should do the trick.

#105 is excellent stuff...It's my Go-2 product for hard paints when switching from my DA to rotary alone doesn't do the trick. I'll usually follow up with M02 with the DA and then top it off with a sealant. No other combo has been as potent in my experience so far.

Great pics and review!

As you may or may not know, I happen to work for Meguiar's - just wanted that out there before I posted this.

Stu, nice to see you "found" M105 and are getting such great results with it. The abrasives in it are pretty unique - extremely hard, which gives it the cut, but exceptionally uniform in size and shape, which gives it such great clarity of finish. If you've ever been on Meguiar's forum do a search for the Alpine Electronics custom boat wetsand/cut/buff session from January 2008 (search for "Alpine Splash M105"). There's an amazing reflection shot I took right after pulling out 1000 grit sanding marks with M105 on a wool pad/rotary buffer. We were even amazed with this result, but the product was brand new then.

Great pics and review!Tofu, you think M02 is a good final polish before LSP, give M205 a try. If any of you like working with a rotary, try it on a finishing pad as your final polishing step prior to LSP.

Damn Stu, you got so excited you posted twice! PM me your address and I'll see what I can do for you. No promises, and I'm certainly not going to make a habit of sending stuff to everyone here, just so all know. OK??

OK??

as it is my car, i can say the m105 made us crazy happy. the clear on my hood was ridiculously hard, and we couldnt find anything to cut through it, the 105 sure did the trick, and we really didn't even have to polish it much. Amazing.
