Wearever Brakes -- Thoughts

So I had a fun day today. You see I had to make a hard stop and the beautiful scraping, grinding, screaming noise after that was definitely unsettling. I knew my brakes were going (especially the warped front rotors) but I figured I could get more time out of them rather than deal with nonsense on July 3rd. So whatever I replaced the front rotors and both sets of pads and I wound up getting and installing Wearever Gold pads from Advanced Auto Parts. I can't find much about them on the internet except some basic stuff here and there so I'm wondering if anyone has used them and what they think of them? They're already on the car and aren't coming off either but I'm just curious what to expect from them. How are they on wear? Dust? Dust is sort of a minor concern at the moment considering that it's been raining since May 1st here in NY I don't see a point washing the car but whenever it stops for more than 48 hours I'll gladly wash her again.

I use Wearever stuff at the shop all the time for our baisc brake jobs. You gtet what you pay for. They are very quiet so long as you prep and install the pads properly, dust is pretty easily cleaned and they are really easy on the rotors. BUT they are NOT a performance pad. If you drive hard/fast youl will get them to fade, you will be able to smoke them and you will be able to get some serious buildup on the rotors pretty quick(what most people call warping) and get a nasty pulsation if you get them hot often enough. Ive never had anybody over 40yrs old who rives a Buick complain, but i would not put them on a Cobalt SS.

Ah well I don't race the thing and since they're on there I don't intend on pulling them off but when they wear out I'll be a far better driver (I've only had the car and been driving stick now for 3 months). What would you suggest instead of them?

Ah well when it's July 3rd, 4pm, you're pretty limited but I'll make sure to remember the name when I do the next brake change.
