What should I know,watch for,what do I use to clean my engine

spay with simple green..let it soak...scrub it and hose it off..just dont soak it for a long time..then let it dry

 

electrical contact cleaner works for cleaning ur engine and wont harm anything. you can get cans of it at the auto store.

or the spray on engine degreaser. u would need to cover up your electrical **** tho.

 

I find the best is an aresol can of breakclean or use a product called super clean it comes in a purple bottle works well and its
Biodegradeable after you ger it clean if you wash it when you wash your car and you won't have to do it very often I have only degreased

I just wipe my engine bay down once a month with spray detailer. Simple green and other harsh solvents will dull and oxidize certain metals (aluminum), and can dull paint as well.

 

same here, just spend some time with a detail spray and cloth, it will shine it up nice!

 

depends on how bad it is.....usually i use a cloth and detailer spray and to finish it tire shine all over everything and let it soak in while i do the rest of the car. then i wipe off any extra crap...... that usually keeps the crap off everything and makes it nice and shiney.
