I was looking to see if I could take my stock rubber off my stock SS/SC rims(18x7) and put them on some aftermarket rims(18x8) without any problems.

Or would I need to run a wider tire?

Searched for a bit but didn’t find a definitive answer.

Good luck, went to a tire center, and they only carried three diff wheels that fit the rubber and my 06 SS. And all 3 sets sucked.

 

Yes, it will fit on there. But it may end up being ever so slightly stretched.
