dunlop direzza sport z1 star spec
one of the major car magazines put out a comparo with nine main manufacturers. the dunlop was the best, with the hankook and bridgestone tires coming up close behind. the bfg's came in fifth place.
I've had them on for about 5K miles now and they are really nice! At WOT (spikes to 24lbs and drops to 20/21) I can still spin the tires pretty easily but I'm modded and tuned so that's to be expected.
I've ran the Azenis on my car and loved them. I really had no issues with them at all in the rain. I mean once the tire starts to wear down a bit obviously it's not going to do as well in the rain. Happens with any of them.
i just got my set of potenza RE-11's in yesterday the things look insane, and are so soft i could press a qaurter in the tire and see washingtons face. They dont have a milege warranty but i bought them for langley speedway. They were rated almost a 9 overall and the 225/40/18 retail at about 220 a piece. Since i work at firestone i paid 110

Judging by the reviews on these I'd say if you want a tire for cornering go with the Azenis RT615's. The sidewall on them is so stiff. Between that and the soft tread compound which grips excellent you can't go wrong.
Car and Driver did a test on a few tires using the Michelin PS2's as a baseline. The Dunlop Z1 Star Specs came out first followed closely by Hankook's V12 Evo. I plan to pick up a set of the Hankooks when my stock Conti's wear out.
