Is your sunroof tracking straight? That's be the first thing I would look at. If it's not, the compression against the body may have cracked the glass.

Or maybe it's something as simple as some dirt/dust/sand in the track and it's grinding.

That sucks though. I feel your pain.

Mine just did the same thing Saturday & I took off the glass to see the track & lock tab was broke & it stays open unless you align the lock latch on the drivers side

I have an appointment at the dealers tomorrow night & I'll try to remember to let you know what they say!

Mine broke this last Saturday to me. The driver side went down fine, but the passenger side was stuck up a little. It was about to rain so i had to fix it. I ended up loosening up the 2 back bolts on the passenger side (T 25 bit) and there is a plastic black piece that guides the window down into place. I moved that forward a little with a flat head screwdriver and tightened everything back up and tried it a few times to make sure it wasn't going to mess up again. Everything seems to be working fine now. It has been raining the last few days and i have been watching for any leaks. Nice to say that i have not found any.

Well I was lucky I bought the extended wqarranty as it is the whole frame to fix it & it was listed at $550 for just the parts & I can only imagin the labor at about $200!

Hey akbar87 I was able to also get it to shut by aligning that same piece but that piece is supose to move forward after the sunroof shuts & that lifts the rear & locks it so it sounds like the same piece is breaking on all the sunroofs & that suck it's a $700 fix like I said I'm lucky I have the extended warranty cuz it's just $100 deductable!

I was looking on gmpartsdirect.com and the frame on their web site is only 132.08. Probably not the easiest to replace tho.

I just did the same thing from an earlier post. All I did was take the glass off and look at what was wrong. Was a lil off track so I just re-aligned it, and its good to go. Its pretty easy, only 6 screws if you wanna peek and look.
