Painting Headlights(in the process of)... quick question if anyones on

So I got them in the oven and know what I'm doing with taking them apart and what not. I was wondering if anyone’s painted the turn signal holes??? I don't have the orange circular piece because the kid before me I guess took that out.

You think I'll have any problems if I do that??? (legal or how bright they are?)

No dumb ass remarks please. Just looking for some serious answers. Thanks.

Yes I scrolled through the 13 pages of the How-To and didn't really see anything about this.

Not that I know of. I'm talking about the cone like piece just to make clear. The ones that goes under the turn signal bulb.

Most people leave it the way it is, I wanted to paint it black or get the orange reflector but this is my DD so I cant really be driving without headlights. lol.

That's how most people I've seen did it.

I know what you're saying. Don't paint any reflector pieces, paint everything else. As far as the amber shield the guy took out before, I would've done the same thing. It doesn't do anything except making a clear bulb look amber.

Much thanks.

I'm about to start the long process of taking (trying to) off the old sealant.

Cuda - a friend of mine, bought that plastic **** you see on flurecent lights like the case lens stuff. Where it has that diamond kind of pattern and used that for replacement orange part. Looks sweet with the black painted headlights. You can get that at home depot or mendards etc.

Half an hour to get the sealant off one headlight not too bad. Now the other.

I'm going to paint just because I already sanded everything down on the PS one. Hopefully I can find someone on here that has taken theirs off and wants to sell them. Hopefully cops won't be that intense on something so minor.

I sanded mine down so that ALL chrome was off of the headlights. I spent a good 45 mins on each headlight sanding.

Primered, painted, was done. I didn't remove any of the old sealant. I used it to reseal the lights. I then sealed over top with extra silicone sealant and done.

Yea, I found that leaving some of the old sealant helped alot. I can't tell yet if they're perfect, but they stuck fine and I sealed the outer part of the lights so there was no air going in or out.
