whats the correct air pressure to run?

im a little confused as what follow. the door jamb of the car, or tire reccommended p.s.i. stock pirelli p6 all seasons tires rated at 50 p.s.i max. my door jamb says 32. i run my tires at 40 with no cargo. is it that big of a deal i guess im just asking what will make the tires last longer in the long run because tires are not made for just the weight of my car obvously. Thanks!!!!!

what the door says is the middle ground, best for wear, fuel economy and performance. If you want better handling, 25 PSI is good, Gas milage, the higher the better, but under 25psi and over 40psi, you will start wearing your tires unevenly.
