GMC Manufacturer warrenty
Hey, i just bought a 2006 SS
and was just wondering what mods will void the warrenty from GM. What exact engine work? What external modifications? I was going to paint my calipers, look at rims and springs, look at intakes, and body kits. It is pretty obveous that a turbo/supercharger (once they come out officially) will void the warrenty (tell me if im wrong) so i will have to wait 3 years for that. Let me know! Thanks Guys you all rock!

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ALTERATIONS AND WARRANTIES
Installations or alterations to the original equipment vehicle (or chassis) as distributed by General Motors are not covered by the General Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The special body company, assembler, equipment installer, or upfitter is solely responsible for warranties on the body or equipment and any alterations (or any effect of the alterations) to any of the parts, components, systems, or assemblies installed by GM. General Motors is not responsible for the safety or quality of design features, materials, or workmanship of any alterations by such suppliers.

I'm pretty sure that thing from the GM website means that aftermarket part providers are responsible for the parts. I.E.: If you get a new set of rims, the paint chips (on the rims), GM is not responsible for the aftermarket rims because they didnt' manufacture them. But like someone posted above, the only way a mod will void the manufacturer's warranty is if it is the cause of the problem. So if you get a new set of rims, and your radio screws up....they can't deny you your warranty because the parts have no correlation. Its called the Magnuson-Moss warranty act....do a search someone has posted the whole thing on here.
