I bought a used 07 cobalt ss supercharged and I was hoping someone could tell me if there was a way I could find out if it has the limited slip differential. Thanks!

 

pull up the carpet in the trunk, the big matt
there is a sticker on the left hand side next to the spare tire, look for G85
if you find that, yes you have an LSD

 

Also if you have an early '07 and have Recaros!

 

do a burnout and see if u have 2 or 1 tire marks

 

i thought all the 07's had limited slip dif.....

call ur dealer or do that p.m. thing and give them ur vin and ask just bought the car, does it have LSD. and i also believe all 07's have LSD just no recaro's unless early model as previously posted

 

not all 07's have LSD. only the G85 package cars do

 

Yep , I've ran build sheets for 07 SS/SC's that DO NOT have LSD.

yeah in 07 they made some with lsd without recaros.

 

this is true...because i have one i am also pretty certain that the ones without the recaros that HAVE the LSD are not G85 either...so looking for G85 might not be that good of an idea...i am not certain what the coding is for just the LSD...i will have to take a look at my window sticker from my car (yes i still have it).

 

they are still coded G85 even though they dont have recaro's

 

just look under the carpet. takes 2 minutes and you dont have to call anyone or risk tearing up your car lol

The RPO code for LSD is G85 .... The recaro's had a RPO of W2E .

My 09 has the G85 option .

you could do what casey said^^^^or you can look at the tranny it will have LSD with the bar code and serial sticker

note just because the car has Recaros doesn't automatically mean it has LSD.....

You can also look at the tag on the transmission, its visible from under the hood, mine said LSD with numers after it and a barcode
