Arrow Looking to buy new rotors,Thinkin maybe R1 Concepts, Need some suggestions!

I was thinking about R1 concept premium rotors but i have heard they get alot of rust on them, I have EBC slotted and dimpled now. Im thinking of maybe just doing the oem style premium rotors. Whats people experience with R1 concept rotors? Im looking to only spend about 150.00 on rotors.

yeah those are for the HHR. We carry them for the HHR Cobalt and a number of other cars.

We can also get you a sweet deal on hawk pads if you need pads too

I have R1 on three different vehicles the work very well. I just paint my rotors before install and no rust except on the face where the pad runs but that goes away once you hit the brakes the first time. Otherwise there great

I really like my R1 Concept rotors with Hawk HPS pads. But, I don't like the rust that forms on them. Like 395plus said, it would be best to paint them before installing them. They come already painted black, but the machined face of the rotors is larger than the pads, so you get about 3/4" on the rotor that rusts. I'll take a picture to show you if you are interested.

I had their e-line rotors with Hawk ceramic pads on a previous car, and those never rusted. It must be a different metal alloy that they use on those.

Yeah if you could take a pic that would be great, but if the actual rotor face is rusting i think i will say away from them.

Please excuse the poor quality; I snapped these with my phone.
The first shows the fronts. I think they look great. You get a little rust in the slots and holes, but nothing major.
The second shows the rears. They are machined, slotted, and drilled across the whole face of the rotor, but the pads do not contact the whole face of the rotor. It leaves an unsightly ring of rust...
This is 6,000 miles after installing them.

I'm using R1 drilled and slotted rotors on my rear, these are zinc washed and perform very well.
I have Bear Front Track (13" drilled and slotted) on the front and ABS still works very well.
Look in my images for a view, I can't seam to figure out how to post a damn picture.

Those look great! Are they the e-line or premium rotors? I previously had a set of the e-lines and they looked exactly like that. The zinc gives them a silvery look, and it doesn't rust.
