LSJ and LE5 trannys

i was wondering if the lsj and le5 have the same tranny. i was curious because my friend with an lsj said he can get up to 70-75 in second and i can only get up to 60 in my le5. i figure they probly have different gear ratios. also would an lsj tranny fit on an le5?

thanks

Yes they have different transmissions
Short answer-anything can be done

Longer answer-not really worth upgrading the tranny unless you are pushing high numbers

Any ss/sc with the stage 1/2 upgrade will do 70 in 2nd. Gearing works out to 10.something mph per 1000 rpm. I've posted the numbers before, but it was forever ago.
