2.2L auto "eng pwr reduced"
2.2L auto "eng pwr reduced"
Hey everyone I've had my 2.2 since last June and this is my first major issue. It started last week when I was hopping on the expressway, I hit about 55 and the car displayed "eng pwr reduced" and the T/C and check engine came on. I pulled over and turned the car off. Turned it back on and still displayed the same thing. Let it sit for about 1 minute and the check engine was still on, but it drove fine - no more warnings.
So, I took it to the dealer that day, they said it was throwing P2138 but it was just a minor glitch. They supposedly fixed it.
Well, the next day it happened and it has happened at least 6 more times in the last 5 days. Each time I follow the same procedures. And after driving for a bit or turning it off for a prolonged period the CEL will go off on its own.
So I'm basically trying to see if anyone has any idea what is wrong before I take it in tomorrow. It seems to happen at a certain rate of acceleration each time. But it is kind of random, sometimes I am gassing it hard, sometimes only applying medium pressure when it happens.
I have gotten a full new tank of gas and tried every other thing suggested by anyone I know and it has not solved the issue.
Sorry about the long winded post, appreciate your help.

Sounds like you have a problem with your APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) input. The APP is down on your throttle pedal. Your dealer will check out the circuits involved, but if they're OK they'll likely put in an APP
