3 Inch Pulley w/ CEL

I just had my 3 inch pulley installed last Sunday. I also put in the NGK colder spark plugs. Here's my problem. I get the CEL on all the time. It's the p0171, I cleared it. When I got on it, it came back on. Is it normal to get the cel with the 3 inch pulley? I also have a k&N intake and maganlfow exhaust.

You are going to have that code untill you get a reflash. You're going to want bigger fuel injectors with that pulley along with the stage 2 reflash. Trust!

Yeah I know it's the lean code. I just wanted to see if people that were running the 3 inchers were getting cel's. I got one when i put my intake on but that went away within a week. I just want to know if it's safe to drive my car because I know our computers are sensitive and it shouldn't be running lean right?

Your CEL is from the K&N intake, not the pulley...and it's pretty normal as far as the CAI goes.

I'm planning on getting stage 1 within a week or two. Do you think that will take the cel away?

But my cel went off after a week or two with the K&N. Ever since I put my pulley on it's been on 24/7

Edit: And the cel has been off after the kn for a while now...It just came on with the pulley. I'm getting it dynoed this Saturday with a/f ratios so I hope everything is good.

if its throughing the lean code i dont think your a/f is going to be good.... regardless of how much padding gm does on the lean code, its never good to have one. I would never run lean..... too dangerous for me.

I believe someone mentioned that it's the lean code you're getting...well, the intake allows more airflow to the engine, and with a smaller pulley when you get on it you're pushing even *more* air into the engine. I'm not surprised the light is on more often now.

See that's what i'm worried about. However our pcm's are also very sensitive. Saturday I will find out if it's really running dangerously lean or if the computer is just being gay.

The code is not from your pulley, I can run a 3inch all day and get no code, throw an intake on and BAM P0171

It has happened to alot of us, your car's fine, if your getting the S1 within a few weeks thats good. It will clear the code, and run so much smoother.

I run the S1 with 3" and intake and one step colder, and it runs nice Not one code since S1 installed (knocks on wood) and its been a while
