Lightbulb Exhuast System for a 09 Cobalt LT??

Hey whats up guys...just wanted to figure out what kind of exhuast are out for a 2009 cobalt LT?? I'm looking for an exhuast system for my girlfriend but having no luck on the net and mostly of the sites are kinda sketchy...I was looking at universal exhuasts but there not selling the hole tubing just the muffler. so the only things i've seen are the borla's but only range up to the 07 models. I'm trying to look for something thats not to loud or just have a perfect sound where it seems like she has cams or a lope...idk everyone feel free to send me some tips cuz there all mostly for SS fitments and kinda sad that she didn't wait for 1 more week to get a SS

I would reccommend the Megan Racing Drift Spec system. On the cheaper side and sounds great. Also comes with a silencer.

You could go with GMPP (wont void your warrenty), theres Mandrel Exhaust Systems who make good exhausts. And there is Tsudo. Thats what I getting for mine. Look up on youtube to see what it sounds like before you buy. its personal perference. But like I said, id go with the tsudo n-1 catback. When you're searching look up "cobalt 2.2l exhaust", not lt. you'll probabley get more search hits

Most aftermarket catbacks will not void your warranty. Most chevy dealerships will void when the header is changed though.

I regret get the GMPP, yes it was cheap when I got it (before the CED price hike), yes it sounds awesome, and yes it won't void your warranty. But, if you lower your car, like I did with sportlines, the huge resonator will scrape everywhere you go. I scrape getting out of my garage, with a very low grade of an incline, uneven streets, and speed bumps. I'm tempting to cut the thing out and just weld in a straight pipe.

thats the first i heard of this. but i guess it would be true with all exhausts that have a large resonator and muffler

I was just going to use a jet tune that I simply unplg before it goes to the dealer. I know its not as much horsepower or as ideal but to keep my warranty and get a small bump in power it sounds good to me. Though there are stealth tunes you can get.

How much is it for the jet tune? How much hp gain?

dude, she has a base model econobox... and you're looking to cheap out on the exhaust... going to sound like ****. It will not sound like it has cams at all. If you want good sound on the car, you're going to have to spend some money and get a good exhaust. magnaflow sounds great, gmpp sounds great, and so do some others.

D4u2s0t-

Are you talking about the tsudo? I heard 2.2s with just tsudo's(no other mods) and they sound real good. It all depends on your taste. Look it up youtube. Like i said before, im only tryign to help but its personal preferance.

awesome feedback guys...yea its hard to find parts for the wife's cobalt cuz its not an SS so i was researching and wondering...did chevy change the tube design on the exhuast systems and w/e?? since its a 2.2l ecotec base model its hard to find parts even on youtube or just google it. i know about honda's, nissans, and my evo but never worked on a chevy before. i was looking at a CAI system for 04 to 07 and was wondering would it fit "also on exhuast systems" i'm not buying anything cheap for her cuz i'm the one that's going to put money into it and she's trying to follow a ****** who thinks his cobalt is the best only thing he did was a motor swap "tool" but just trying to figure out if chevy change the blue prints on the cobalts?? i know i can't put SS parts in it unless i do some major mod work but that'll cost me mad $$$

I don't see why you're having such a hard time finding parts for a 2.2 Cobalt. It's actually pretty easy, check out the supporting vendors on here. Also check the classifieds, even if you're not buying used it'll give an idea of what is out there for the 2.2's. And yes you can put some SS parts on your 2.2, the suspension is interchangeable.

IIRC you can put on the SS/SC exhaust on the 2.2, but not the SS/TC exhaust. Any exhaust for 05-07 Cobalts will fit, along with any suspension part, doesnt matter what trim it is (LS, LT, SS, Sport). Air intakes, any 2.2 or 2.4 intake will work. Post up or PM if you need any help finding anything.

check the supporting vendors on this website. Many parts are actually EASIER to find for the 2.2's.
