anyone use royal purple products? I was wondering if they are as good as advertised? I was looking at the 5w30 and atx fluid.

 

I used it for my vibe, the tranny loved it

 

i use royal purple everytime i change my oil i wont not use nething else......although it is quite xpensive

 

I used to use Royal Purple.. But then I found something so much better than that! Now I use REDLINE OIL AND TRANNY FLUID! So much better than any product I have used before! I recommend that all of you who think mobil 1 or Royal Purple is the best to try this! I can 99% guarantee that you will stick with REDLINE Products! Pretty penny but worth it if you want your car to run pristine!!!

I have used Redline oil and other stuff for years.

 

Just wondering, how would you really be able to tell if one oil is better then the other? Are you saying it's a difference you can feel in drivability?. If you have an SS/SC, well all trim levels really, you still need to use an oil that meets GM standards......

To test an oil you can analyze it both before and after its used to check particulate levels and wear metals. Not exactly rocket science but you can make a few assumptions about how your engine is running. Any modern oil will work just fine for your engine so long as its the proper viscosity and certification (GF-4, SL, SM)

Only in cases of severe neglect will the oil used come into question... and if its that bad to destroy an engine it won't really matter.

 

The only oil that is synthetic and is preferred and recommended by GM is Mobil 1, i would suggest not switching out oils, just stay with what Gm suggests...

 

LOL speaking of that. Did you know... true fact.... Mobil pays them a **** load of money to put that in their book and on the oil cap. Why? Because then everyone who owns that car will be buying Mobil products for the life of their car. Truely all you need is a full synthetic oil in these cars. There is nothing better out than a full synthetic oil. I work at Jiffy Lube and am also an Assistant Manager there. So... just fyi

 

Mobil 1 is good enough for me. I really don't want to pay a rediculous amount every 3k miles lol. Mobil 1 even if its just psycological horsepower, I like it , and it fits my budget. At least its not crude

Well, i'll just let u know some other facts as well. There's a specific reason why GM used mobil1, and its not just to put there products on their oil caps or what not, they use them because they have been proven to add hp in the corvettes and camaro's using synthetic mobil1, compared to just your average plain jane oil, granted this is not the main reason, just one of many...

 

I hear Royal Purple is pretty good. Hard to come by in my area so I stick with Motul fluids. I use the 8100 and 300V for engine oil and the tranny and diff oil is pretty good too. But I hear for tranny and diff, Redline is the way to go.
