So I was at car meet and a srt4 calls me out so we do roll races from 40 well on the last race he stops and tells me lets do a dig race. So I was ok lets do this put it on launch control rev up to 3k and feather the clutch out, but as soon as I go to shift to second it doesn't go in and it wouldn't go in anymore. So we go back to the car meet me in third gear all the way back and I noticed that only my top gears work 1 3 & 5 only 2 4 & R are gone. So I just wanted to know if this has happened to any turbo cobalt on here and what do you think it is. I think its the roll pins but I don't know for sure.

check where the shifter cables connect to the top of the trans. theres a hard tube at the end of the cable where it connects to the bracket that pops off sometimes. you should just need to pop it back on and be good to go. might take some force but it will pop back on.

the reason it wont go in gear is because the tube keeps the cable from bending so it will go through the gears. right now you try to grab a gear and the cable just bends

 

i recently had one that had broke on the shifter side...but yea just get a friend, watch you linkage moving on both sides...either way...warranty FTW
