Red face Is turbo going bad...?

Just the other day my turbo started to whine really loud when the boost kicks in. It got worse over the next day, so I took it into the dealership. I have just recently hit 7000k miles so everything is still under warranty. At the dealership I had to take the service foreman for a ride so that he could verify the noise. He also heard it and said that they would check it out. The service department had my car for the entire day and then called me to say that nothing is wrong with the car. They had tightened a bolt and ordered a cover for my high pressure fuel pump. Aside from that they said everything is "fine".

The turbo still whines really loud... way louder than ever before. I would actually say that it "screams". I was wondering if anyone on here had any input on the matter...? Is this normal, or is the dealership just trying to avoid replacing my turbo? Should I take it to another dealership for a second opinion?

Thanks in advance, I would love to hear your feedback

Is it quiet at idle?

Is there a loss in power?

Loss of boost?

Where you live is the weather cold and mildly humid? turbos need to get warmed up before you stomp on them in humid and chilly weather, like here in chicago it's like 60 degrees and 75% humid. so i let the car sit for a while before i even pull out of my parking spot.

It is quiet at idle.

There is no loss of boost.

I do not think there is any loss of power, but it is hard to tell because I let off the gas when I hear the sound(it worries me that
much).

Also... The first thing I did when I heard the noise was to retighten my charge piping.

Mine does the same thing and with an intake its really loud so I took it in to the dealer they said nothing was wrong and they took the one on the showroom floor and said it did the same thing. I told them they were full of **** so they let me take it for a drive. Sure as **** it was the same noise. The only thing that concerns me is that I don't think it did it from day 1.

charge pipe connections where? im vague on the stock piping, but there'll be a clamp by the turbo, maybe one ontop the motor prior to the intercooler, inlet to intercooler, outlet to intercooler, than into the intake manifold

I almost 100% sure mine does this randomly. It's almost like it has more power or is just generally louder.

I think it has a lot to do with outside temperatures. The thing screams when it is cold out. Probably just more air.

That is normal if you are seeing over 23 psi. It whines a little.
