Clutch Question

Hi guys, I'm new to the world of SS and I have a concern/question! I've recently purchased a 2005 Victory Red Cobalt SS/SC. After driving it hard ,if you will, for the first time I noticed something. On my 1-2 shift, if the RPM's are high the rpms stay hung and slowly drop down and then 2 engages and I begin pulling again. I was just wondering if the clutch was slipping or if there is something with the computer stopping the transmission from slamming into second? Thanks guys!!

Umh...

Make sure you are not riding the clutch, and that you are lifting when shifting. Some people say that the engine holds revs for a bit. Never experienced that with my car, but that could be the case with yours.

That never happens to me. Try letting the clutch out faster. Like that guy said ^^^ You might be riding it.

Yea I made a post about this exact same thing. Since stage 2 was installed I noticed this much more. As long as it dont get worse I wouldnt worry about it. I think theres so much power there it takes time for it to drop into the next gear. Mainly this is noticable when your doing really quick shifts.

The stock clutch imo does not realease qwik enuff for my tastes . My car has been that way from day 1 . It only got worse the more worn my stock clutch got . I put a spec 2+ and a fidenza flywheel in last nite . Problem solved ITs absolutely night and day difference , even back from when my SS was brand new . If I bought another new SS/SC , a clutch/flywheel would be my first mod .
