Backwards Shift Knob (Pic)

Backwards Shift Knob (Pic)

I installed my Hurst perfectly fine but my knobs backwards, I have tightened as hard as possible and the knob sits backwards. I am sure there is an easy fix for this, so i was wondering if anyone could help me...

I was thinking that like a washer but i read someone said "There is an opposing nut that will rotate and lock the knob in place. You'll need a big crescent wrench to fit over the flat parts. Position the knob where you want it to face, and then tighten up the opposing nut and you're all good." But I dont get what he is talking about

under the shift knob, theres this spacer thats round andhas 2 flat spots on each side, you loosen the shift knob to where you want it and tighten that spaser up to the knob,
ill take some pics after work if you stillhave no clue what im talking about

but when i tighten the knob down doesnt the spacer go back down? please post pics to show me...thanks for the help
