Stage 2 SC kit vs custom pulley and injectors

Would it be better to buy the GM stage 1-2 kit, the 42lb fuel injectors and the 3.065 pulley adding 45 more horse's. or to buy 60lb injectors and a 2.7-2.8 pully. Would buying the custom be more dangerous? or would it even be worth it? I want power upgrades, but i want the most bang of my buck. please help!!

You're definitely better getting your own pulley and injectors and a custom tune... and a custom tune is just that... custom tuned for your particular car.

Get tuned, wicked2006ss is in Ohio, if he's up for it. - Don't kill me for advertising you mang.
Run E85.

hmm 2.6 huh, you wanna throw in some kind of exh to those supporting mods there bud... you will have to shift at 6300 in order not to over spin the blower past efficiency i would go with 2.8 no lower than 2.7 thats just from my previous experience running every size pulley out ther besides 2.5

2.8 you can go 7200rpm SAFELY

If you're gonna get OTT's heat exchanger, get the ZZP S2 heat exchanger, same thing but cheaper. The ZZP S3 heat exchanger is better than both and is what I would get if I were you.

Hold on guys, OP u still under warranty? GM kits wont void ur warranty thats the key point if ur warranty still. If not build ur own kit like they said.

I bought the GM stage 2 kit b4 0ttp and zzp be4 they had kits, it was $550 a the time. Now they have hpt now.

I choose to support vendors who aren't asshats.

Oh, took me a second to get what you were saying. I forgot to mention the exhaust part. Woopsie

Those are just the parts I'm waiting on. I've got 2.5" catless downpipe to start with. Can't decide on what header or catback I want yet. And to drop more money on the exhaust than the other parts combined, irritates me.

well my honest advice to you would be to find a reputable exhaust shop in your area and just go on crateenginedepot.com and buy the flanges you need, most any exhaust shop will be able to replicate any aftermarket exhaust you could buy for half the cost sometimes less depending on your "hook ups" and negotiating skills.

just remember if you have all the flange's and gasket's you need most exhaust shops charge around $8 a ft installed for 3" and then my personal choice of muffler is magnaflow. have them put the biggest ones they can fit and it will help quite it down but of coarse still be straight through design

(i have been through tons of money on exh and custom was the way to go from the beginning)

I'm going to try and talk to some local shops, see about it.

So, what did you do for resonator, none?

i have a huge one stuffed under there, mangnaflow 36 in long 6 in case 3 in inside diameter, then a magnaflow 4x9 race muffler out back that i wanna switch to something much larger in the near future.

This also cut down on cost of piping lol there isnt much!

link to resonator.

since you have 2.5 you will want this one.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=8073

and i would put this muffler in the back.

oh and get the pacesetter header. its the only one that is reasonably priced and def gets the job done!

it will be super deep under idle and cruise and then when you open it up it doesn't get loud or raspy at all, it sounds like its a much bigger displacement motor than it is. even catless

If I got the GM stage 2, how much would a trifecta tune cost?

i live on the east side of Columbus. and thanks for all of the advise. i do have a warrenty, is for another year and a half, or like 15,000 more miles. but i have no problem swapping out the aftermarket pully and injectors if something went wrong. with winter coming up, ill most likely wait untill next spring to do anything. So ill most likely go the non-GM route. cheaper and more power!

Yep. My warranty has been gone for a while, so I'm not worried about it.

Finally ordering parts for my car, and thats the route I've gone so far. Doesn't hurt to start out with Stage 2 on the car.
